Walking is one of life’s great joys, and as humans, we have some of the greatest stamina when it comes to traversal. Walking is a great way to stay healthy and protect the environment, but it does but pedestrians at risk of other road users. Before the change, cars and lorries were restricted to one-way traffic, yet buses and taxis used a separate two-way section. Mr Colin Phillips, who sits as senior coroner for Neath Port Talbot, has issued a report to councillors highlighting the “serious design issue” which “must be addressed” concerning The Kingsway stretch of road in Swansea. Immediate safety changes to road after bus hits pedestrian

Much needed safety changes are being made to a Swansea city centre road after an off duty police officer was hit by a bus. 41-year-old Sgt Louise Lucas had to be airlifted to hospital after she was hit by a bus on Tuesday. Her eight-year-old daughter was also involved in the accident but only suffered minor injuries. Safer roads requested for children in Wales

A large group of campaigners are demanding safer routes for children in Wales to walk to school. With figures showing that one third of pedestrian casualties in road accidents in Wales were children; people argue that something has to change. Brake welcomes Welsh Assembly's road safety move

Road safety organisation Brake has warmly welcomed a move by the Welsh Assembly to encourage local authorities in Wales to implement more 20mph limits, in recognition of the proven road safety benefits.
